1.3 Curriculum Enrichment

  1. 1.3.1 Institution integrates crosscutting issues relevant to Professional Ethics, Gender, Human Values, Environment and Sustainability in transacting the Curriculum

  2. In order to integrate the cross-cutting issues relevant to gender, environment and sustainability, human values and professional ethics. The courses on Ethics, Human Values, Human Resources & Organizational Behaviour and Community Outreach (HVCO) through NSS and NCC and Environmental Studies are embedded in the curriculum of all programmes.
    1. Gender Sensitivity There are many platforms for hands-on experiences related to gender sensitivity which enable students to interface with real-life situations such as field work, community outreach, and gender sensitization activities under Women Empowerment Cell (WEC). T.
    2. Human Values and Professional Ethics A course of one credit on human values "Professional Ethics and Human Values" is offered as a Subject / open elective to all the students to take at least once during the programme of study. As an integral part of student engagement in social activities during their programme of study, the college also mandates all the students to enrol as NSS/NCC Volunteers. It aims at inculcating values, ethics and socially responsible qualities. Students organize awareness campaigns, debates etc. related to Human values activities by students are being conducted since inception.
    3. Environment studies A course of 3-4 credits is included in all UG programmes. In addition, eco club, physics club, NCC & NSS also organise programmes related to environmental awareness & sustainable development in the student community as well as the surrounding community at large.
